Dr Ní Shúilleabháin is a consultant psychiatrist at St John of God Hospital. She is a medical graduate of Trinity College Dublin and is dual qualified in General Adult and Later Life Psychiatry. Dr Ní Shúilleabháin completed her Basic Specialist Training in Psychiatry in the Trinity College Dublin Training Scheme before moving to London to pursue Higher Specialist Training in General Adult and Psychiatry of Later Life. She trained in the London North Central Training Scheme.

Dr Ní Shúilleabháin has experience in inpatient and community settings for both adults and older adults. She has worked in specialist memory services as well as specialist psychosis community mental health services. Dr Ní Shúilleabháin been involved in significant quality improvement projects with the NHS and holds an NHS Leadership Academy Award. She has a background in medical education and holds a post graduate teaching qualification from King’s College London. In recognition of the impact of physical illness in Psychiatry of Later Life, Dr Ní Shúilleabháin has also undertaken a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine with the UK Royal College of Physicians. Dr Ní Shúilleabháin has been employed as a consultant psychiatrist since 2021.
