Patient Finances & Billing

At our hospital, we are committed to ensuring transparency and providing comprehensive support regarding billing, patient services, and the overall experience during your stay. Below is a detailed overview of the key areas related to your hospital journey.

Social Welfare - Illness Benefit

Illness Benefit is available for individuals unable to work due to illness and who meet the Pay Related Social Insurance (PRSI) contribution conditions. Certificates of Incapacity for Work are issued weekly to patients from our medical secretaries and forwarded to the Department of Social Welfare as required.

Paying Your Bill

The hospital facilitates direct payment arrangements for inpatient services with major health insurers in Ireland. This streamlined process includes

  • Insurance Claims: On your signing of your private insurance claim form on admission or during your stay. The hospital handles claims directly with your insurer, ensuring coverage for services provided during your stay. If your insurance does not cover the full cost, you will be requested to make an advance payment on admission, with further payments scheduled if necessary.
  • Cost Estimates and Payment Options: An estimate of your admission costs is available from the Accounts or Admissions Office. Payments can be made via bank draft, electronic funds transfer, credit/debit cards, QR code or private health insurance.
